Chemin de St. Jacques..

One of the many "Fairy Forests" Dustin and I wandered through on our four-day sample of the Camino this past spring...

The abbey in St. Guilhem-le-desert. Around 1000 years old...

"The Giant's Castle" above St. Guilhem-le-desert. Ancient ruins of a hermitage.

An old favorite...

Parc Blossac in Poitiers, France... A return to a favorite spot for a bit of autumnal photography. Grape leaves always give me the urge to spend some extra time capturing the shapes and shadows...

Touristing in Toulouse

A well-placed mirror makes for interesting camera angles in a Jacobin abbey in Toulouse, France.

Touristing in Paris Two

Beautiful gothic-style tower near the Seine. I'm terrible; I don't remember what it's called. Ooops!

My favorite sight in France -or anywhere!

Touristing! Paris One

Ok, here come the tourist pictures! Here is the famous Louvre and its (in?)famous glass pyramid. We joked about taking the DaVinci Code tour, but decided against it...

Fountain One

This octopus fountain is found in Sete, right in front of my friend Rachel's house. Very important to the Setois (people from Sete), octopuses are found in a variety of local dishes.
The word for octopus in French is poulpe.
This begins a series I'm doing on fountains.

Sunset colors in Sete (October)

Photos of my recent travels and touristing with Dustin are soon to follow! Meanwhile, enjoy these pics that I took last month in Sete...

A bit of Burning Man in France...

Saw this beast in Montpellier a few weeks ago... I asked if they'd been to Burning Man, and they said, "Not yet!"

New Faces...

Traveling brings an influx of new faces; new dear ones for every new place. Though never replacing the ones at home, new friends both ease homesickness and make it more poignant. Here are some of the faces that people my new home...

Rachel and Amy, two other Beziers assistants.

Viva, a German assistant in MontP.

Nadia, my landlady, and Anne Marie, an Austrian assistant.
My new roommie Martha.

Sète One

My street, la Rue Rapide...

My front door and my landlady, cleaning up after some plumbing issues. Let's just say that the water situation took a few days to straighten out. All is well now.

This is where the letters ya'll are sending me will land before I get them in my hot little hands!

Poitiers, France Two

What is France without coffee? That's some yummy Noble coffee in a French garden...

Jeanne and myself in the "reflet dans la cafetiere..."

Mmmmmm... green tea!
